Here's Ringo Starr with his take on both 'Fiddle About' and 'Tommy's Holiday Camp' from The Who's 'Tommy' album/film. Not sure quite why or how this came about but I'm glad it did and I'm sure you'll agree that Ringo brings a very sinister air to 'Fiddle'...his 'Camp's' prettty good too...i'm quite a fan of ringo's film appearances also...

I think i'll end my little run of monkey tunes with this version of 'Brother Gorilla' from the late, great Jake Thackray.
I've no idea where this track actually came from. I have been told it was from the Planet of the Apes TV show that ran in the seventies (animation version?), but it sounds like a wacked out fan to me and well, I can't find a better quality version than this...but don't let that put you off, because this is pretty epic.
More monkey business with Rosemary Clooneys 'Little Red Monkey'...I think this version is sung by Joy Richardson, Jimmy Edwards & Dick Bentley, but i could be wrong...?

I guess my monkey postings have been inspired by the recent Darwin bicentennial and attendant celebrations...from most quarters. 
Going to be putting up a few 'monkey' related tracks over the coming days, so to get in the swing (see what I did there?) here's 'Go Go Gorilla' by the Shondells (what no Tommy James?)...and no, I don't really want all the Gorilla's to 'go'...I want them to 'GO!'...
I like to think that punk carried on a lot of the British music hall traditions, and was, for a short while a great leveller in the scheme of things, the repercussions of which are still being felt...well almost...

Mad Monster Party by Ethel Ennis from the superb Rankin/Bass animated film of the same name, see trailer above(sick-a-dilic?).The soundtrack to the film is mostly instrumental but here we get a great Bond-type track that sets the scene perfectly!
The film also features the inimitable Phyllis Diller...whether or not we'll ever 'be ready for that', well, only time will tell!
